ArmForge Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Overview

ArmForge ("we", "the app") is an iOS app that rates your arms from a photo, builds a personal arm training plan, logs your workouts, and offers an AI coach. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data Storage

Your data stays on your device: your setup answers (such as goals, gender, age range, height, weight, experience, training days, and equipment), your scan photos and scores, your logged workouts, your coach chat history, and your settings. We do not operate a database of your activity. Your data leaves your device only as described below (AI arm scoring, AI coach replies, purchase verification, anonymous analytics, and advertising attribution).

No Account Required

ArmForge does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address or phone number. The first name you optionally enter during setup is stored on your device and used to personalize on-screen text and coach replies.

Camera and Photos

ArmForge asks for camera access so you can take a photo of your flexed arm for a scan. You can instead pick a photo from your library; the app only receives the single photo you choose and cannot browse the rest of your library. Scan photos are saved inside the app on your device so you can compare your progress over time.

AI Arm Scoring

When you scan your arms, the photo is sent to our backend service, which uses Google Gemini to estimate your arm scores. After processing:

Scores are automated estimates for motivation and progress tracking. They are not a medical or body-composition assessment.

AI Coach

When you message the coach, your message, recent chat history, and the context needed for a useful answer (your first name, latest scores, weakest area, training plan, and streak) are sent to our backend service, which uses Google Gemini to write a reply. Messages are not stored on our servers beyond the duration of the request. Your chat history is stored only on your device.

Subscriptions and Purchases

ArmForge offers an auto-renewable subscription. All purchases and billing are handled entirely through Apple's App Store; we do not collect or store any payment information. Subscription status is verified through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your entitlement status; no name, email address, phone number, or payment details are shared by ArmForge. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles purchases.

Notifications

ArmForge may request permission to send local notifications, such as training-day reminders, a weekly reminder to rescan, and an alert when your rest timer ends during a workout. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not involve any external servers.

No Ads Inside the App

ArmForge does not display any ads and does not show you third-party advertising while you use it. We do, however, run ads for ArmForge on other platforms to reach new users, and we measure how those ads perform as described in the two sections below.

Analytics

ArmForge uses PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to understand how the app is used and to improve it. We record anonymous events such as which screens you open, when a scan or workout is completed, and when the paywall is shown. This data is tied to a random, anonymous identifier, not to your name. Your photos, scores, and chat messages are not sent to PostHog. Analytics data is processed on PostHog servers in the United States.

Attribution and Advertising

We run ads for ArmForge on other platforms, including Apple Search Ads, Meta, and TikTok. To understand which ads bring new users to the app, we use AppsFlyer, a third-party attribution service, together with your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). We ask permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before accessing the IDFA. If you decline, ArmForge works exactly the same and installs are measured using Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork instead. For our Apple Search Ads campaigns we use Apple's AdServices attribution, which does not identify you across other companies' apps or websites. Device identifiers and install and purchase events may be shared with these advertising and attribution partners solely to measure the performance of our own ads. We do not sell your data.

You can turn off tracking at any time in iOS Settings, under Privacy and Security, then Tracking.

Third-Party Services

ArmForge uses the following third-party services:

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with third parties only as described above: with Google Gemini for arm scoring and coach replies, with RevenueCat for subscription management, with PostHog for anonymous analytics, and with AppsFlyer and our advertising platforms (Apple Search Ads, Meta, and TikTok) solely to measure the performance of our own ads.

Children's Privacy

ArmForge is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Deletion

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting the app, which removes your scan photos, scores, workouts, and chat history. Anonymous records held by our service providers (RevenueCat, PostHog, and AppsFlyer) are retained in accordance with each provider's data retention policy. You can stop advertising attribution at any time by declining tracking in iOS Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
